Skype for Business Login

Instructions for signing into Skype for Business for OS X. For OS X versions 10.11 (El Capitan) and newer, download the latest Skype for Business installer from Microsoft’s download page: Skype for Business OS X. For OS X version 10.10 (Yosemite) and below, please download the Lync installer from Dartmouth’s download page: Lync Installer as SFB is not compatible with earlier versions of OS X.   • Once installed, run Skype for Business
  • At the sign-in screen, enter netid@dartmouth.edu with netid being your own Dartmouth NetID and then click Continue
  • SFB will connect with the Office365 server and then present you with the password field. Enter your NetID/email password and then click Sign-in. Make sure that Keep me signed-in is checked or you will need to enter your password at every login.
  • SFB will then authenticate and you may need to authenticate a DUO push request. You will then be logged into SFB.

Windows users with Microsoft Office 2016 installed should already have Skype for Business 2016 installed. If Skype for Business is not installed, download the English installer from Microsoft’s download page: Skype for Business Download (most users should use the 64 bit installer).

  • Once installed, run Skype for Business
  • At the sign-in screen, enter your.email.address@dartmouth.edu with your.email.address being your own, full Dartmouth email address and then click Sign-In

  • SFB will connect with the Office365 server and then present you with the password field. Enter your NetID/email password and then click Sign-in. Make sure that Save my password is checked or you will need to enter your password at every login.
  • When asked if you would like to save your Skype for Business sign-in info, it is safe to click Yes
  • At this point the authentication will most likely fail. Click OK and proceed to the next step.
  • A new field will appear with the title User name. Use the following details to fill in the available fields:
    • Sign-in address: (Leave as isyour.email.address@dartmouth.edu
    • User name: netid@dartmouth.edu with netid being your own Dartmouth NetID
    • Password: Enter your NetID/email password and then click Sign-in
  • At the improve Skype for Business screen, click No
  • SFB will then authenticate and you will be logged into SFB.
